Kellyanne Conway has had a tough go of things lately – she was forced to defending Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s lies about the crowd size at President Trump’s inauguration as “alternative facts,” and now she’s stuck defending Trump’s Muslim-targeted immigration ban by bringing up the infamous Bowling Green Massacre.
There’s only one problem: the “Bowling Green Massacre” is not a thing that happened.
See, there WERE two individuals (Iraqi refugees) who were caught in Bowling Green, KY, planning to help get weapons to al Qaeda operatives in Iraq (not commit a massacre in Bowling Green). They were arrested and sentenced to two years in prison and killed exactly 0 people in Bowling Green, let alone enough individuals to be considered a “massacre.”
So – Trump’s spokesperson literally just made up a fake terrorist attack to help justify an unpopular decision, and – as expected – the internet is roasting her HARD over it:
I remember the Bowling Green Massacre like it was yesterday. Cause that’s when it was made up

shame on Kellyanne Conway for attempting to politicize the Bowling Green massacre, in which I was killed

Please, a moment of alternative silence for the victims of the Bowling Green massacre

Sad to see everyone politicizing the Bowling Green Massacre so soon after it failed to occur.

Guys, these Bowling Green Massacre jokes are a little too soon. Out of respect, we should wait until it takes place. #AltFacts

My girlfriend? Oh, you wouldn’t know her. She was tragically killed at summer camp during the Bowling Green Massacre.

Devastated to learn that Manti Te’o’s girlfriend was one of the victims lost in the Bowling Green Massacre.

The Bowling Green Massacre was horrific, but not as bad as
the Gotham City Riots.
Thankfully, Batman was able to put a stop to both of them.
